Today, James Lohse presented “The Search for the MOOC Credit Hour” to the 2020 Learning with MOOCs conference. The paper examines the wide variation in assessment rigor and integrity verification across MOOCs, and prescribes a mechanism for independently and objectively summarizing MOOCs so they may develop a more generalizable reputation as alternative credentials.
